Anti-vaccine card protestors take to street outside Kamloops courthouse

People upset by the province's vaccine card mandate, which took effect today, gather outside the Kamloops courthouse this afternoon to show their displeasure.

Roughly 100 people held signs and cheered along Columbia Street today, Sept. 13, while vehicles honked their horns in support.

Some of the signs read, “Die before comply,” others called B.C.'s vaccine policies “tyranny.” Some of the protestors held up signs in support of the People's Party of Canada.

RCMP vehicles wre stationed near the courthouse to observe the protestors.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn told iNFOnews.ca they expected a peaceful protest, but that they would be “monitoring and responding accordingly.”

As of today in B.C., anyone who wants access to a range of non-essential indoor services must show proof of at least one dose of vaccine, with a second shot required by Oct. 24.

The protest today at the courthouse follows a similar one that took place in front of Royal Inland Hospital on Sept. 1, which attracted hundreds of supporters.
