‘High-risk extraction’ leads to replica firearms seizure in Kamloops

Kamloops RCMP arrested a man and seized replica firearms late last week after receiving a report that a gun was pulled on another man in North Kamloops.

According to police, a driver on the 400-block Tranquille Road pulled a gun on another man then drove off on Friday, Sept. 10.

Officers responded to the area around 10:23 p.m. and later located the suspect on the 400-block of Mackenzie Avenue, where they conducted a "high-risk extraction" because a firearm may have been present, according to a Kamloops RCMP press release.

Police said they searched the vehicle and found a replica pistol and revolver, adding that the suspect was cooperative during the search.

The victim, however, was uncooperative during the investigation, RCMP said.

The suspect was later released.

The replica firearms were seized and will be destroyed.
