$50K lottery prize for Kamloops couple goes toward mortgage

A Kamloops couple will pay down a big chunk of their mortgage after a Lotto 6/49 win.

Hardy Spitman and Frances Perszon of Kamloops won $51,451 after matching five out of six numbers on their lottery ticket, according to a B.C. Lottery Corporation press release.

“Fran checked the numbers on her cell phone and then we realized we won,” Spitman said in the release. “It was great to see more than a free play when checking on the app.”

They purchased the ticket from Aberdeen Hills Petro Canada.

“We play to dream. You can only win if you buy a ticket,” Perszon said.
