Cats abandoned at Penticton SPCA; plea issued for information

PENTICTON – Someone left their two older cats outside the Penticton shelter this week and the SPCA would like some answers as to why.

The “lovely older ladies” greeted shelter staff when they arrived at work in the morning on Wednesday, March 11, according to manager Corrine Ross on Facebook. They were in separate pet carriers and covered with a blanket.

“They were absolutely scared to death, but are in good hands now,” she says.

If you need to surrender an animal come into the shelter to do so, don’t abandon them. The shelter needs information about the owner and about the health of the cats, the post says.

The SPCA staff is hoping someone will recognize the cats from the pictures and contact them.

If the owner doesn’t come forward, they will be spayed and put up for adoption.
