One man dead in ATV accident near Postill Lake

One man is dead and another man is fighting for his life in hospital after an ATV crash in remote Postill Lake early Saturday morning.

In a release last night, Kelowna RCMP said they found the two men, both aged 52, around 3:30 a.m. after getting a distress signal from a GPS device. Police, ambulance, Vernon Search and Rescue and Central Okanagan Search and Rescue found the men in the Postill Lake area near Wallaston Forest Service Road and Brunette Forest Service Road.

One man was pronounced dead on scene and the other was airlifted to hospital where is is in serious, life-threatening condition, police said.

The identity of the dead man is not being released. Police and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating the death and the cause of the crash.
