Matt Smith of Doctor Who fame stars in the prequel to the hugely successful HBO series Game of Thrones based on the novels by George R. R. Martin. He plays Daemon Targaryen.

House of the Dragon is set 200 years before Game of Thrones and is based on Martin's book Fire and Ice when House Targaryen ruled the seven kingdoms with the power of dragons.

HBO Max has released a sneak peak of the series it plans to release sometime in 2022.
