KAMLOOPS — A 42-year-old man was arrested after police found weapons and drugs in a suite on Chestnut Avenue Friday afternoon.
Around 4 p.m. the targeted enforcement unit executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The response was in part because of concerned area residents reporting criminal and drug activity at the address to police.
During the search of the suite police found a loaded sawed-off rifle, which had been reported stolen last year, a revolver, ammunition, taser, small amounts of heroin, crystal methamphetamine, drug packaging supplies and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
When the 42-year-old occupant was arrested away from the home afterwards he was also found to be in possession of several ounces of 'illicit drugs.'
The Kamloops man will be facing several charges in relation to both the firearms and drugs.
