Workplace death in Kamloops under investigation

Investigators from both the coroners service and WorkSafeBC are looking into a death at a Kamloops business last Friday.

A person died at around 10 a.m., Oct. 15, at a business in the 1800 block of Mission Flats Road.

B.C. Coroners Service will determine the cause of the person's death, according to spokesperson Ryan Panton.

WorkSafeBC was also notified of the death.

"The purpose of WorkSafeBC’s investigation is to determine the cause of the incident, and any contributing factors, with the aim to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future," WorkSafeBC media relations manager, Alexandra Skinner, said in an emailed statement.

For privacy reasons, both the coroners service and WorkSafe would not identify the business or the deceased.
