Homemade taser, drugs seized in Kamloops traffic stop

Kamloops RCMP seized cash, drugs and a homemade taser after stopping a vehicle for a second time last Sunday.

Police first pulled the vehicle over in the Valleyview neighbourhood on Oct. 17, around 10 p.m., but nothing was seized and no arrests were made at that time, according to a Kamloops RCMP media release.

Police say they later found the vehicle on Halston Avenue and Salish Road where police suspected "drug activity."

The driver was arrested on scene, but the investigation remains ongoing and no charges have been laid.

Officers in Kamloops responded to 361 service calls this past weekend between midnight Oct. 15 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 18.
