
UPDATE: One person dead following three-vehicle accident on Highway 97 south of Penticton
A person has died following a three vehicle accident that has caused massive delays along Highway 97 south of Penticton.
According to AIM Roads, a major vehicle incident occurred along the highway near Sandhill Road earlier this afternoon and there are currently no detours available, Oct. 23.
Witness Jodie Conti said it was a three-vehicle accident. A vehicle was weaving through traffic and hit two vehicles head on. A passenger of the vehicle that was weaving through traffic died, she said.
Massive traffic delays are expected and DriveB.C. is reporting the highway is closed at this time.

Emergency crews are on scene. The B.C. RCMP could not be immediately reached for comment.
