Kelowna’s Gospel Mission opens thrift store at new location

KELOWNA – With a ribbon cutting ceremony, store blessing and a free barbecue, Kelowna's Gospel Mission opened the new location of its thrift store.

After over 30 years at its current location on Leon Avenue the thrift store has moved to 125 Roxby Rd. The move has allowed the Gospel Mission to double our space for expanded programs to help the homeless and people living in poverty. 

The thrift store’s top priority is to provide free clothing, linens and dishes for our emergency shelter on Leon Avenue. All items sold at our thrift store support programs, such as our dental clinic, shelter and women’s transitional housing.

Randy Benson, Executive Director of Kelowna’s Gospel Mission, spoke about the store opening, “We are so excited to be in the Rutland area and we want to serve the area well! This is a beautiful store and we are proud of how we will be able to serve the community.  I hope everyone will come out Saturday and enjoy some good food and visit the new store.”  

The thrift store is focused on bringing high quality items at great prices. It is clean, spacious with bright lighting and wide aisles giving shoppers a relaxed shopping experience.

Kelowna’s Gospel Mission Thrift store accepts gently used donations of furniture, large and small appliances, mattresses/box springs, clothing, household items, décor and linens. 

For large donations call 250-862-2404 to make an appointment for pick up.  Volunteers are needed for all positions and can apply at the store or by email to Thrift@kelownagospelmission.ca.
