
609 new COVID-19 cases in B.C.; 92 in Interior Health region
There are nearly 4,500 active COVID-19 cases in B.C. as transmission continues across the province.
The B.C. Ministry of Health is reporting 609 new cases in the province, with 92 in the Interior Health region, in the past 24 hours, according to a press release.
Between Oct. 19 and Oct. 25, people who are not fully vaccinated accounted for 64% of new cases across the province and nearly 75% of hospitalizations in the past two weeks.

As of Oct. 27, more than 90% of eligible adults in B.C. have received at least their first vaccine dose, while 85% have had their second dose, according to the release.
Of the 4,728 active COVID-19 cases across the province, 422 people are being hospitalized with 157 of those in intensive care.
There are currently 642 active cases in the Interior region, but the Fraser Health region tops the list with 2,043.

In the past 24 hours, the ministry is also reporting six new deaths as a result of COVID-19. Five occurred within the Fraser Health region and one in the Northern region.
Since December 2020, there has been 8,186,611 COVID-19 Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna or AstraZeneca vaccine doses administered in B.C.
