Halloween night assault in Kamloops lands 2 to hospital

Two men were taken to hospital last night with serious injuries, one consistent with knife slashes and the other with what appeared to be blunt force trauma, according to Kamloops RCMP.

Police responded to a report of a stabbing at approximately 11:45 p.m. yesterday, Oct. 31, at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops when a man arrived with serious, non-life-threatening in slash-like wounds, according to an RCMP media release.

“About five minutes later, police were called to a disturbance in the area of Battle Street and 4 Avenue, which involved yelling and a man bleeding from his head,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “A man was located with what appeared to be blunt-force trauma injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance.”

The man, who matched the description of the suspect, was arrested.

The assault with the knife happened in the 400 block of Seymour Street outside of a commercial business, RCMP said. Officers, with the help of a police dog, found and seized evidence.
