UPDATE: Fire crews extinguish house fire in Kelowna

No one was hurt but four people were displaced after a two-storey home in the downtown Kelowna area caught fire this morning.  

The Kelowna Fire Department received a 9-1-1 call around 8 a.m. today, Nov. 2, about a house fire in the 900 block of Fuller Avenue, accord to a Kelowna Fire Department press release. 

The first firefighters on scene reported the back of the building was fully involved.

Crews first attacked the fire from the exterior and then extinguished the rest from the interior. Some personnel are still on scene as the back of the structure is considered unsafe to overhaul.

The cause of the fire, which is not considered to be suspicious, is still under investigation. Investigators are still on scene.

The four residents who were displaced are in the care of the Emergency Support Service program. 

In total there were four fire engines, a rescue vehicle, a command truck, a safety vehicle and 20 personnel called to the blaze.
