Chance of freezing rain in Kamloops, Okanagan this weekend; snow possible on mountain passes
While Environment Canada forecasts for the three major cities in the Okanagan are usually almost identical, that’s not the case for the next few days.
Even Kamloops, which generally has a very similar forecast except for being a couple of degrees warmer, is showing a different pattern leading up to and through the weekend.
The one common factor in all areas is that there will be a mix of sun, cloud and rain with the possibility of some freezing rain in the overnight periods. The higher the elevation, the greater chance the rain will freeze when it hits the ground.
Kamloops continues to have warmer days with a high of 12 Celsius forecast for today, Nov. 4, then dropping to 6 C by Sunday. There’s a 60% chance of rain today, 30% tomorrow with a mix of sun and clouds on the weekend and lows down to -1 C Sunday morning.
The warmest day in Vernon and Kelowna looks to be tomorrow at 10 C then dropping to 6 C by Sunday.
