More October rain than usual in Kamloops, North Okanagan
October was wetter than usual for Kamloops and most of the Okanagan.
One exception was in Penticton where 20.3 millimetres of precipitation was recorded.
Based on historical records from 1981 to 2010, Penticton received an average of 26 mm during October, according to Environment Canada. Temperatures in the city ranged from -6.3 Celsius to 22.6 C last month. The highest temperature recorded in Penticton during any October was 28.9 C and the lowest was -14.5 C.

Kamloops saw 19.5 mm of precipitation in October, only slightly above its historical average of 19.4 mm. Temperatures dipped as low as -5.6 C and as high as 21.6 C. The city's highest temperature for that month was 31.3 C while the extreme minimum was -17.1 C.
Looking into November, Meteorologist Lisa Erven with Environment Canada said there will be a chance of precipitation every day for next week due to a "very active storm pattern."

After the storm patterns move on near the middle of the month, Erven said the temperature trend will bounce up and down with some warmer days and some cooler days.
"Overall it averages out to near-normal for the month of November," she said.
However, extremities are often glossed over in monthly forecasts as they can only offer a broad outlook, Erven said, adding that daily and weekly forecasts are able to apply much more data into their models.
