
321 more Interior Health residents test positive for COVID over the weekend
There were 321 new COVID-19 positive tests over the weekend in the Interior Health region, or about 107 per day.
That’s out of 1,438 new cases recorded in the province as a whole, including 553 on Saturday, 462 on Sunday and 423 in the last 24 hours, according to a Ministry of Health news release issued today, Nov. 8.
There were 575 new cases in the Fraser Health region, 221 on Vancouver Island, 166 in Northern Health and 155 in Vancouver Coastal.
Out of 17 more deaths over the weekend, only one was in the Interior Health region. That brings the death toll from the pandemic to 2,218. Most were in Northern Health (six) and Fraser Health (five).
There are 4,282 active cases with 407 people in hospital, 121 of whom are in intensive care.
The number of people with one dose of a COVID vaccine climbed slightly over the weekend to 90.3% with 86% having received a second dose.
