Snowfall warning: 15 to 20 cm expected on Coquihalla

Heads up, drivers, the Coquihalla Highway is about to get another big dump of snow.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall advisory for Highway 5 from Hope to Merritt where 15 to 20 centimetres are expected today, Nov. 9, before tomorrow morning.

The warning says a frontal system is moving through British Columbia bringing snow over higher elevations. The weather office expects a total snow accumulation of 15 to 25 cm before easing off Wednesday morning. The heaviest snowfall is expected tonight.

If you're headed to the coast, you should also be aware the Fraser Valley is also under a special weather statement for winds today, which could reach 50 km/h gusting to 70 km/h.
