Woman seriously injured in crash on Trans-Canada west of Kamloops
A collision between a commercial truck and a small car on the Trans-Canada Highway near Tunkwa Lake Road in Savona west of Kamloops sent one woman to hospital last night.
The collision was reported to Tk'emlups Rural RCMP around 10:15 p.m. yesterday, Nov. 9, where they found a semi-truck in the eastbound ditch and a small car still in the westbound lane when they arrived, according to an RCMP news release.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged and the woman in the car had already been freed from the vehicle by the time police arrived. Paramedics took her to hospital with serious injuries.
Witnesses indicated to police the car had crossed the centre line and collided with the truck, but the investigation is ongoing, RCMP said.
Tk'emlups RCMP is still seeking witness, and anyone with information can reach them at 250-314-1800.
