Online fundraiser opened to support funeral costs of child killed in Highway 97C collision

A B.C. family has organized a GoFundMe following the Nov. 18 head-on crash near Logan Lake that took the life of six-year-old Ember Young.

The online campaign has been set up to assist with the funeral costs.

The collision took place at 12:15 p.m. along Highway 97C near Foley Road south of Logan Lake when the family’s vehicle was struck by a utility truck head-on.

Ember’s little sister Hailey and mother Jordan were seriously injured in the collision.

The cause of the collision is currently under investigation, however, Cpl. Mike Halskov of B.C. Highway Patrol said in a release there was no evidence of a criminal act.

Anyone with further information, including relevant dashcam footage, is asked to contact Merritt RCMP.
