Train rear-ends truck near Sicamous

SICAMOUS – A lot of questions need to be answered by investigators as they look into a bizarre crash on the CP railway line near Sicamous.

A Dodge truck was rear-ended by a train Tuesday at around 2:40 p.m. about 8 kilometres east of Sicamous near Solsaqua Road.

The RCMP say the driver was heading eastbound on the Trans-Canada Highway when the truck left the road and lodged on the tracks.

The crew was able to slow down the train before impact.

The driver was the only one in the truck. He was airlifted to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops with undetermined injuries.

The Canadian Pacific Police have taken over as the lead agency as the investigation continues.
