VERNON – A scooter has been returned it to its owner thanks to a tip from the public.
Mounties believe the scooter, valued at $500, was taken overnight on March 8 from a home on 30 Avenue in Vernon, according to a Vernon RCMP media release. The owner of the scooter has mobility problems and uses the scooter for day-to-day living.
On March 17 someone called police to let them know a scooter was left abandoned at 27 Avenue. Officers confirmed it was the stolen scooter and returned it to the owner.
"The owner is extremely grateful to have his scooter returned to him," RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says in the release.
