Cops connect Armstrong culprits with illegal activity

Police believe the individuals behind a tractor trailer theft could also be responsible for a robbery last month at a gas station in Enderby.

"Last week officers from the rural area of Armstrong and Enderby worked on a file where a tractor trailer unit was reported missing and last known location was in their area," Gord Molendyk, spokesperson for the RCMP, said. "The truck was to make deliveries from Alberta through to the coast."

On Monday one of the trailers was found in a parking lot on Hullcar Rd. and Deep Creek Rd., with its cargo missing.

The International truck was later located on a rural property in the Hullcar Rd. area along with the second trailer. The police received a search warrant and were able to recover the truck worth approximately $30,000 along with the second trailer valued at $6,500.

As well, the cargo in the trailers was valued at $30,000. The cargo—mainly furniture—had been moved into a shed. The total recovery is just under $70,000 in property. Charges are expected against several people

"The police are still continuing with this investigation around possession of stolen property and other associated files including the robbery at the Shell gas bar in Enderby on April 28 as they now appear to be connected," Molendyk said.
