Intense snowfall expected for South, North Thompson
An intense snowfall warning is currently in effect for the North and South Thompson.
"Under the snow squall, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow," according to a statement from Environment Canada.
Snow is expected in 100 Mile, the North Thompson, South Thompson, North Columbia and Kinbasket today, Dec. 11.
A snowfall warning is also in effect for Highway 3 from Rogers Pass to Eagle Pass.
"A cold front transiting across the B.C. interior will bring strong winds and brief bursts of heavy snow that will create hazardous conditions with sudden reduction in visibilities," according to Environment Canada.
Weather warnings are no longer in effect for the Central and North Okanagan, Similkameen and the Shuswap but a wind warning remains in effect for the South Okanagan. The region could see up to 90 km/hr winds this morning.
