Kamloops police investigating violent attempted robbery at a North Shore business
An assault and robbery attempt took place on the North Shore yesterday afternoon and police are looking for witness and surveillance.
The suspect allegedly bear-sprayed, then physically fought an employee who attempted to stop him from stealing merchandise at a business on the 400-block of Tranquille Road yesterday, Dec. 20 around 3:18 p.m. according to a media release by RCMP.
The suspect fled on foot through an alley between Yew Street and Tranquille Road. Officers patrolled the area with help from the Police Dog Service Unit, but were unable to locate the suspect, RCMP said.
The suspect is described as an Indigenous male wearing a maroon and gold hoodie, black pants, and a maroon and gold face mask.
It’s unknown if anything was stolen during the attempt.
