Colour added to frozen waterfall along South Okanagan highway

Motorists travelling through the South Okanagan get to enjoy a colourful treat every winter thanks to an artist who doesn’t sign their work.

Each winter, waterfalls freeze on rock faces along highways in the Interior.

And in some locations – like the one near Kaleden – creative people have found a way to add a bit of colour to the natural phenomenon.

The brightly-coloured waterfall can be found three kilometres west of the junction of Highway 97 and Highway 3A, although the colours seem to become less vibrant over time.

Observers will notice a new pattern and colour scheme each year.
