
Drunk driver parked on Trans-Canada in Kamloops arrested
An impaired driving incident in Kamloops is under investigation.
Police were called to Highway 1 near Copperhead Road on Wednesday, Feb. 16 around 10 p.m., according to a media release by Kamloops RCMP.
Officers located a grey truck stopped against the centre concrete barrier with a sole occupant, who was uninjured.
“Based on the officer’s observations, the suspect was transported to the detachment to provide a sample of his breath, which registered a reading of 250 mg – three times the amount warranting the separate charge of exceeding 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood,” said Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn in the release.
A Kamloops man was issued a driving prohibition and given a court date.
