Lake Country RCMP are on the lookout for a suspect following an armed robbery of a store yesterday evening.
According to a Lake Country RCMP media release, a masked man entered the business in the 9500-block of Main Street in Lake Country just before 11 p.m. yesterday, Feb. 24. RCMP do not identify the business.
He then threatened the store's staff with a firearm, before robbing the business of cash and merchandise. He then fled on foot.
Lake Country RCMP searched the area with the help of a police dog, but could not find the suspect.
"Lake Country RCMP is thankful the employees were not injured in this robbery," Kelowna RCMP Const. Michael Della-Paolera said in the release. "If anyone has any information about this incident or suspect, please call the Lake Country RCMP."
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, wearing a tan Carhartt jacket and carrying a blue duffle bag.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and has dash camera footage is urged to call the Lake Country RCMP on 250-766-2288. Or remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net.
