Penticton and Kelowna tie for best weather in Canada

SALMON ARM PLACES EIGHTH IN TOP TEN

OKANAGAN – For those living in Kelowna, Penticton and Salmon Arm, it’s really not a surprise these communities all finished in MSN MoneySense’s top ten places with the best weather in Canada.

MoneySense went to Environment Canada’s database to get the facts for their ranking.

Weather is very subjective, but the list tries to level the playing field by dealing with measurable factors like comfortable temperatures and rainfall amounts.

Penticton and Kelowna tied for first place.

Penticton has, on average, 124 days during the year with a temperature above 20 C with 99 days of rain.

Compare those statistics to Kelowna which is only slightly less warm and a little bit more wet. The city averages 124 days above 20 C and 108 days of rain per year.

Salmon Arm ranked eighth in the list. The Shuswap community averages 105 days above the 20 C mark and 106 rainy days every year.
