$750,000 up for grabs for B.C. SPCA’s lottery

Once again, thousands of dollars will be given away every day in the month of June for the B.C. SPCA’s Spring Lottery, and much more will be raised for animals that need help.

The lottery is offering a $50,000 jackpot draw on the final day, June 30, a $10,000 prize on Father’s Day, June 19, $5,000 prizes every Tuesday and Friday, and a $2,000 draw every other day of the month, according to an SPCA press release.

“We’re excited to be offering a bonus 50/50 pot of up to $750,000 along with 30 chances to win cash prizes in our calendar Lottery,” Tess Repenning, manager of digital giving, said in the release.

“We expect our most popular ticket packages and 50/50 tickets to sell out quickly again this year.”

For anybody interested in the odds, there will be a maximum of 99,400 regular tickets for sale, and 50/50 tickets will be capped at 96,500.

A single ticket costs $30, three can be purchased for $60, or six for $90. For the 50/50, tickets cost $10 each, three for $25, or six for $40 and have to be purchased with a ticket for the regular draw. Tickets can be purchased here and the deadline to buy is May 13.

Money raised provides rescue, shelter and medical care for vulnerable animals throughout the province. Last year $1.9 million was raised through the annual lottery.
