
iN VIDEO: Kamloops teen advances to next round on American Idol
Cameron Whitcomb of Kamloops wowed the judges on American Idol in Hollywood last night, April 3.
Whitcomb, 18, teamed up with Tristen Gressett, 17, from Alabama to perform an energetic duet.
Calling themselves team Both Crazy, they performed a cover of “Have You Ever Seen The Rain” by Creedence Clearwater Revival, which earned a standing ovation from judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan.
Whitcomb is a motorcycle mechanic and pipeline worker who initially won a golden ticket to Hollywood two weeks ago after performing “Rock, Salt and Nails” by Waylon Jennings.

He celebrated both wins with a backflip that is becoming his signature at the competition.
Both Gressettt and Whitcomb advanced to the next round, beginning tonight on Monday’s “Showstoppers” episode.
American Idol airs on CityTV and ABC on Sundays and Mondays at 8 p.m.
