Body removed from Hiawatha Mobile Home park

KELOWNA – RCMP Serious Crimes investigators cordoned off a home at Hiawatha Mobile Home park in Kelowna after finding a body inside Tuesday morning.

At about 9 a.m. April 1, Mounties received a request to check the welfare of a Kelowna woman on the 3700 block of Lakeshore Road. The woman was found inside, dead, and her death was deemed suspicious.

Police have been on site all day searching the property and surrounding area with the help of a police services dog. An RCMP helicopter circled the area in the early afternoon and at about 4 p.m. six additional police vehicles arrived. The police services dog was taken out of the area but is back and waiting to be put to use as officers continue to search adjacent properties.

Const. Kris Clark says there is no immediate danger to neighbours.

There are no other details from police at this time.
