Fiery crash on Highway 97 north of Summerland

Highway 97 traffic has been snarled north of Summerland by a fiery crash.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. today, April 22, near La Punta Norte.

Witness Cheyenne Hadfield said in an online exchange that she saw a northbound vehicle hit the meridian, which caused the car to flip and slide down the highway before catching fire.

The man who was driving the vehicle is OK, she said.

Traffic is now inching along, Hadfield said.

The crash had not yet been posted to Drive B.C.
