Warm but wet start to week in Kamloops, Okanagan

There’s a 70% chance of rain showers in Kamloops this morning, April 25. That will taper to 30% chance this afternoon but winds could be gusting to 50 km/h.

In the Okanagan, there’s only a 40% chance of rain this afternoon but also with winds gusting to 50 km/h.

At the same time, today looks to be the warmest day of the week, according to Environment Canada’s online forecast. Kamloops could reach 19 Celsius today while the Okanagan is showing 18 C.

There’s a 60% chance of showers in the Okanagan tomorrow and a 30% chance in Kamloops. The rest of the week looks to be a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures ranging from 14 C to 17 C, which is slightly below normal for this time of year.

Overnight lows are forecast to dip near the freezing mark some mornings.

Rain showers and gusty winds are forecast for the mountain passes over the next couple of days, with the chance of snow flurries at higher elevations but no real accumulation of snow.

The forecast shows slightly warmer temperatures next weekend but that could change as the week progresses.
