VIDEO: What Kamloops looked like in the 1950s

KAMLOOPS – Sixty years ago, Kamloops was a budding community that looked far different from what it is today and lucky for us someone was smart enough to use video to preserve historical images for future generations.

This short 16 millimetre film shows what the view from the South Shore looked like in 1954.

In this video you may notice the lack of development on Tk'emlups Indian Band land on the northeast side of the river, and even on the North Shore. You may also notice the Overlanders Bridge is not yet built when this video was taken.

In your view what is the most noticeable change in the past 60 years? Let us know in the comments below.

that logo is likely from the original videographer. And… it’s smaller than a quarter screen AND translucent… and I didn’t notice it until I read your comment! If this is your biggest concern in the world… all I can say isWOW.

  3. What’s the purpose to ruin this historic video with quarter screen logo?
