Owner of stolen truck needs your help

WEST KELOWNA – Brazen thieves made off with a nearly $300,000 prize this morning and a West Kelowna businessman is hoping you can help him get it back.

When Scott Horovatin showed up for work at his yard at 3 a.m., March 27, he found his 2014 Kenworth truck and 2008 Peerless lowbed trailer gone.

"You can tell they knew what they were looking for and knew what they were doing," he says. "To get out of our yard, you have to know how to drive."

He followed fresh tracks to the highway but lost the trail from there. It might look to the untrained eye like any other truck on the road, but Horovatin says it's a fairly unique combination. Key is the Horovatin logo on the side.

If you see the truck, you are asked to call RCMP Const. Rick Goodwin at 250-768-2880.

Thieves really need a good shit kicking every couple of days. People work so damn hard to buy themselves things and thieves come along and take it away from them in a split second. This is why I believe in taking matters into your own hands when it comes to bastard losers like this. Don’t get mad…GET EVEN!

  5. Don’t worry insurance will cover it …..things that make you think….

  6. Find Them….Kill Them. Period

  7. Glenna Miles Have another drink!

  8. Marco Lemire

It’s already at the other end of the world, All they can hope for… is that”they” the robbers are idiots and sell it to a legit buyer. who then would look up the manufacture numbers, Not knowing himself that he or her has raised a red flag to the RCMP and the company itself giving up the position. 5-6 month process for sure.

  9. Rob Corson

No point in posting better pic of logo like everyone asking!! It’s long gone!

  15. GSP lives in the eastern end of Canada, so hopefully the truck has a GPS tracking unit installed. :)

  16. Greg Janis

Stealing a complete unit almost seems like the thieves are planing to steal a large piece of equipment.

  17. Glenna Miles

Thankfully we are not that country. Women are also beaten and killed for getting raped. This is Canada. It’s a truck and trailer. Not a mother and child. See the difference.

  18. Please post a better picture of the door logo.Might help to track it better.

  19. Steve Parchem

u can bet the logo is gone or covered n had to be someone that has the facility to hide it and strip it,, don’t think they be driving it,, just a guess,, lol.

  20. Keith Hinsche

  21. Gail McMahon-Ringland

  23. Joanne Laurette Aubertin

If it was a cop car, they would sure be looking hard for that.

  24. Good luck in finding your truck.

  25. Notsew Nylu Darb

Like the one on the side of the truck perhaps?

  26. Montana Joanne MacLean

you can see it in the first photo.

  27. Way too many things being stolen lately and you never hear of anyone being caught.

  28. Lori Nielsen

Yes a better close up of the logo would help.

  29. Georgina Forsythe

Hope this truck has a GSP tracking system. Can you imagine all the people running around with no hands if it was law to chopoff your hands for stealing! I know what I’d like to do if I caught a thief red-handed running away with my property. They would never steal again…but then again this is like beating down mole hills!
