Man literally caught with his pants down, Lower Mainland police seeking more witnesses

A middle-aged man was seen masturbating at a red light in Burnaby and police are looking for more witnesses.

A teenager riding a bus saw the suspect performing the indecent act in a grey vehicle, recorded a video and then sent it to police, according to an RCMP press release.

The Burnaby RCMP say they have not received any other masturbation-related reports recently, but officers will be combing through other jurisdictions across the Lower Mainland “as the suspect was in a vehicle,” the release says.

The man is described as around 50 years old with a medium to heavy build. He did not appear to be wearing pants since he was exposed from his waist to the knees.

It happened at 3:55 p.m. on May 12, according to the the report made to police on Lougheed Highway near Gaglardi Way.

Officers are hoping get in touch with anyone else who was riding the westbound 136 bus around that time. Police are also trying to obtain more video evidence, as the video submitted to police did not capture a good view of the vehicle or the license plate.

“The Burnaby RCMP is looking to speak with anyone else, including drivers or other bus passengers, who may have also witnessed this indecent act or seen the suspect or his vehicle,” Cpl. Alexa Hodgins said in the release.

“This is concerning behaviour. Police want the public to be aware of this incident and to report any similar activity.”
