One person injured in Kelowna house fire
One person was taken to hospital after a house fire in Kelowna this morning.
The Kelowna Fire Department received several calls around 6:40 a.m. today, May 25, about smoke that was coming from a second storey window 475 Franklyn Rd. in Rutland, according to a release from the department.
The first officer to arrive confirmed that smoke was visible from a the building’s second-storey window.

Crews attacked the flames from the exterior before entering the building and extinguishing a fire in a bedroom. The fire caused some damage to the exterior but was contained to the one room.
The occupant who was sent to the Kelowna General Hospital had minor injuries.
The full response included four engines, the rescue unit, ladder truck, command vehicle and 20 personnel.
