KAMLOOPS – RCMP are on the lookout for two suspects after a paint ball was fired at a mini-van as a dad was loading a small boy into a car seat.
The drive-by paint ball shooting happened at around 1 p.m. Sunday in a parking lot on Seymour Street between 1 and 2 Avenues.
Sgt. Edward Preto says the paint ball was fired at the side window of the van, shattering it completely.
“Luckily the child had his back to the window at the time,” Preto says. “Had this occurred a moment later, the child would have had glass in his eyes.”
Police are looking for a forest green, mid-90’s Chevrolet S-10 regular cab pick-up truck with a grey container in the back.
It was last seen heading on St. Paul Street.
The RCMP would like to have a word with the driver and the passenger.
If anyone has any information, call the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
