Direct flights between Kelowna and Cranbrook set to resume

After almost ten years, Pacific Coastal Airlines going to resume its direct flights between Kelowna and Cranbrook in September.

The airline ended the 55-minute non-stop flights between the two cities back in 2013, according to media release issued today, June 7.

The flights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday are scheduled to resume on Sept. 12.

“We have received significant customer feedback requesting the return of this 55-minute non-stop flight,” airline vice-president Johnathan Richardson said in the release.

The manager of the Cranbrook airport Tristen Chernove said the direct flights to and from Kelowna is essential for health services, tourism and business development.

“It is important that we are able to once again provide these regional connections for B.C. residents,” Kelowna airport director Sam Samaddar said in the release.

The airline will be flying the 19-passenger Beech 1900 turboprop on the new route.
