Hold and secure at two Vernon schools following weapons report

Vernon RCMP were called to a weapons complaint yesterday and a hold and secure was initiated at two schools.

Police, in conjunction with the school district, implemented the hold and secure at Fulton Secondary and Ellison Elementary just after 1 p.m. yesterday, June 7, according to an RCMP media release.

RCMP said following an investigation, it was determined there was no direct threat to students and the hold and secure was lifted.

“Police have located and identified the individual and are continuing to investigate the incident,” the media release said.
