Don't be alarmed by the walking wounded shuffling in front of Penticton's First Baptist Church this Wednesday. This will be part of a public rally to show support for the Penticton Regional Hospital's badly-needed patient care tower.

The Penticton Medical Society invites citizens to a March 6 rally to show support for a $300-million hospital expansion. Members of the public are asked to bring in or dress in medical equipment, such as bandages, canes and crutches. Dressing in black clothing is also recommended.

The society wants this visual display to show the government the need for a better hospital.

The rally will start at the church at 1498 Government St. at 11 a.m. and end at or near the hospital at 1 p.m.

This rally is the second big public demonstration put on by the Penticton Medical Society. Last month a crowd of nearly 800 people turned out at the Penticton convention centre to support the community's doctors.
