Kin beach closed due to high level of bacteria in water

Vernon's Kin Beach has been closed due to a high number of bacteria in the water.

A water quality advisory was issued for the beach this afternoon, June 25. It will remain closed until further testing can determine water quality has returned to an acceptable level, according to a press release from the City of Vernon.

"Signs have been posted at Kin Beach advising that swimming is not recommended at this time.

"The water quality for the beach will continue to be monitored and the public will be advised when it is safe to resume swimming in the area," according to the city.
