KAMLOOPS – Firefighters quickly put out a blaze that started in the crawlspace at a home located on Regina Avenue this afternoon.
Assistant Chief of Operations for Kamloops Fire and Rescue, Mike Adams, says when crews arrived the house at 626 Regina Avenue was full of smoke and they found the fire in the sub-basement crawlspace. They were able to extinguish it with minimal damage.
The house is listed for sale, but people are still living there and were able to evacuate without injury before firefighters arrived.
Utilities personnel were on scene to shut off gas and hydro should the need arise. Kamloops Fire and Rescue responded with four engines, a rescue truck and a chief officer. An ambulance and attendants were standing by.
