UPDATE: Power restored to more than 5,700 customers

KAMLOOPS — Expect a few people late to work and school this morning because some alarm clocks didn't go off this morning. Many people in Kamloops woke up to no power.

B.C. Hydro reported two outages affecting the Aberdeen, Upper Sahali, Knustford and Rosehill areas as well as customers further south along Highway 5A.

In total 5,719 customers were estimated to be affected by hydro wires being down. Power went out since just after 2 a.m. and about 2,200 customers saw power return just before 7 a.m. The remaining customers saw power return by 7:15 a.m.

  1. Gosh darn, I woke up because I was cold then I noticed there was no power. I must do something so I can keep warm if this happens again. Candles are to dangerous and we can’t have a wood stove. Anyone have any ideas for me to try? Thanks.
