Kamloops ReStore returns accidentally donated ashes
When an urn with the name 'Kayla Moss' turned up at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Kamloops, staff knew something like that wouldn’t get donated on purpose.
The warehouse team found it while going through boxes, according to store clerk Phoenix Payne.
“They realized what it was and put it off to the side, knowing it’s going to be valuable to someone,” she said.
The store manager was calling funeral homes to see if any could match the name, but no luck.
Fortunately, the rightful owner, somebody local, ended up returning for the urn of their late loved one.
“But in the end it was actually a dog,” Payne said. “It was a really good feeling to see it all work out.”
