Another closure of Clearwater Emergency Room tomorrow

For the fifth time since June, patients in Clearwater won’t be able to count on the emergency department at their local hospital.

The Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital’s emergency department will be closed starting at 6 a.m. tomorrow, July 10, until 7 a.m. on July 11, for a total of 25 hours, according to a release from the health authority.

Interior Health is once again blaming the issue on staffing shortages.

“Interior Health regrets this temporary change to normal operations…,” the release says.
