Kamloops cops seize homemade gun, machete from suspect on e-bike

An e-biker in Kamloops was carrying a machete in his backpack and a homemade gun when he was stopped by police last week.

A Kamloops RCMP officer spotted the man because he wasn't wearing a helmet, according to an RCMP media release.

The officer stopped the suspect in the 300 block of Tranquille Road around 1:30 pm. Thursday, July 7.

Police seized ammunition, break-in tools, identification belonging to someone else and a "small amount" of suspected cocaine, along with the weapons.

The man was released from with a court date as the investigation continues, RCMP said.
