Woman mugged at midnight in downtown Kamloops

A woman was injured after she was pushed and robbed while walking in downtown Kamloops.

She was on her way to her vehicle on Victoria Street, between 4 Avenue and 6 Avenue, two men approached the victim just after midnight, July 7, according to Kamloops RCMP.

The woman reported to police that she was pushed to the ground and assaulted before the two men robbed her.

There was also a woman with the suspects, and the trio fled on foot toward Lansdowne Street, according to the news release.

Police did not say what items were stolen.

“There are a number of businesses in and around that area,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn of Kamloops RCMP said in the release. "It is our hope that someone's video surveillance captured something that will help us identify the suspects."

Both men are described as Caucasian with dark hair. They have an average build and stand about 5'9". Police say they each were wearing baggy jeans and a hoodie.

The woman is described as being 5'4" with an average to thin build.

Police say the victim had non-life threatening injuries.
