Pedestrian struck, killed by semi north of Penticton

PENTICTON – A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a semi on Highway 97 north Penticton.

Global Okanagan reports the 47-year-old male was struck when he tried to run across the highway just after 4:30 a.m. He died at the scene.

The mans identity has not been released and an investigation is underway.

According to DriveBC, a lane is closed and traffic is slow through the area.

  2. sounds like a suicide to me, who wouldn’t see a semi coming down the highway at that time in the morning, roads would be pretty empty.

  3. Maybe the poor guy had a death wish!
